Transforming Communities’ Energy Resilience with Solarize

Our business is installing solar power and our mission is to fight climate change. For the third year in a row, Sun Path Electric (SPE) partnered with Olympia Community Solar and others to make solar power more affordable and accessible for Washingtonians through the 2024 Solarize campaign.

This year’s Washington campaign was the most successful and expansive yet. The effort joined nine solar installers who offered free solar assessments to nearly 1,000 people. The campaign was supported and promoted by 14 cities across eight counties, and offered eight public workshops in six cities.

By the end of this year, SPE expects to have completed close to a dozen Solarize installations in Olympia, Kenmore and Lake Forest Park.

Solarize campaigns make it easier, faster and more affordable to “go solar.” All Solarize customers receive top-quality solar installations at below market rates. How is this possible? Solarize is a nonprofit-backed program designed to lower costs and streamline the solar installation process through group purchasing (more on this in a moment).

Why Solarize?

Solarize’s model is extremely effective at jumpstarting local solar markets. It utilizes organized community outreach to persuade a significant number of residents and businesses in a specific area to adopt solar energy simultaneously, typically within a few months.

This enables customers to buy solar systems in bulk at a reduced cost, while ensuring a steady flow of purchases and installations, further driving down expenses. By establishing streamlined processes and building trust within communities that solar is a smart path forward, Solarize is accelerating solar adoption.

One of the best parts is that the panels used in these installations are all manufactured locally in Washington. This model is good for Washingtonians, Washington-based businesses and the workers who depend on them.

How Do I Participate in Solarize?

Interested in joining the movement? While the 2024 campaign is closed, you can sign up for e-news alerts at the bottom of this page to stay in the loop ahead of Solarize 2025.

When Solarize is live, the process looks like this:

1) Sign up online to receive a free assessment and quote.

2) Receive your free assessment. At this stage, you’ll get a clear idea of how you’ll see your return on investment in solar, for example, your projected payback period and total savings.

3) If you decide to move forward, your installation date will be scheduled. You can expect installation to take 2-3 days.

4) Now, the fun part: watch your energy bill go down after your solar panels go up.

Fun fact: To date, more than $2.4 million has been invested to install 250 systems with a total 1,100kw solar capacity.

Thank You

From our partners to our customers, Sun Path Electric is grateful to all who participated in Solarize 2024. A special shout out to Olympic Community Solar for inviting us to participate for another year!
